Energy Saving Lighting System
We’re not all blessed with bucket loads of money to throw at improving our living space. Here are some tips that can change how you feel in your home by simply changing the lighting devices.
Buy yourself a lamp. They have always existed, but when was the last time you looked at the vast range of lamps that are available today? The shape of the lamp that most people are familiar with this old favorite is the table lamp. The electric table lamp has evolved from generations of oil and gas lamp. It is versatile and portable, provided that the flexibility is within reach! It provides a pool of light that is usually directed down and creates a warm and comfortable. The lamps are available in many forms with bases that can be made from glass, stone, metal, wood and even ceramic. Shades also come in different shapes and sizes and a wide range is available online. You do not even have to travel to the store to get your new lamp can be purchased online and delivered directly to your door.
Do you use candles. For many years candles were an expensive luxury that most people could not afford. They rely on the light emitted by their heat source, usually the fire in the fireplace, or simply lie down at dusk when the sun disappeared. Today candles are very affordable and available from many different vendors. Try using a candle in an elegant candlestick to bring a touch of class to your dining room or a short broad candle to bring intimacy to the bedroom. You have not extracted the full pleasure from a long soaking in the bath until you’ve driven there in the flickering candlelight.
Buy a clip spotlight. It is essentially a bulb attached to a giant clip. They plug into your electrical outlet and can then be clipped to curtain rails or other suitable medium. Beware though, the son would trail the jack on the light and it is easy to stumble and pull the spotlight from where it was obtained. Add silver or gold paper to the inside of a lampshade. Paper gold shines the light of the lamp warmth in silver paper, everything gives a cooler feel. Make sure the paper you use is fire proof though as shades can get hot.
Make the most of natural light that enters your room. A blind at the window can help to reflect light in the room while a large mirror carefully positioned can greatly increase the overall brightness in all areas. Make sure the curtains are kept well back from a window as bunched drapes hanging in front of the glass when pulled can drastically reduce the natural light entering a room
